0.7.1 General Feedback Thread

The 7 generations countdown starts immediately once you have 5 metabolosomes. So before when you usually loaded up on metabolosomes early, you’d at most need to wait like 2 generations to get mitochondria unless you got a super early nucleus. Now though it is probably the case that due to oxygen being missing initially, the metabolosomes are added later so the unlock is not timed as well.

The strength of the organelle tint colour was turned down for 0.7.1 because that was made as a change and no one said they didn’t prefer that change.

(I was personally slightly against this change but no one else supported my viewpoint so I accepted the change to reduce the organelle tint by like 80%).

It does.

Yes, that’s correct. The AI evolves first and then the player is given a chance to review what happened in the editor and then respond by making changes.

I don’t think you got anything incorrect. I’ll just note that every now and then someone new discovers the order of auto-evo running and when the player makes changes, and inevitably they suggest switching the sequence, but the problem is that reversing the situation doesn’t really help. With the reversed order the player edits first without seeing AI species appearing or mutating, and any auto-evo prediction shown to the player in the editor is not very helpful. Once done editing then auto-evo would run and modify the AI species that are now allowed to directly respond to what the player attempted to do invalidating basically the strategy the player tried. Any real improvement would have to somehow split up the steps somehow to give the player more control.

As was discovered on our community discord, the speed display is just a math estimate and not actually accurate. Relevant issue that I don’t have super high hopes of ever being fixed:
