How large were you when you tried to engulf a small chunk? I think I was at 7 hexes or larger from organelle duplicating via passive reproduction when I was able to engulf a small banana-shaped mineral chunk in a Banana Biome.
I was like 8 hexes large but probably not fully grown

What I like:
-
I like the new lighting. It makes everything brighter. There could be some improvement (which I have stated in the lighting change poll thread).
-
I like that the population circles have a smoother and higher resolution texture.
-
Finally, the bug of not having Banana Chunks in the Banana Biome has been fixed!
-
I like that the food chain can be moved around. This will make it much easier to see the interactions on the food web.
-
I like that small worlds can be generated again without errors!
What could be improved:
- Will other chunks also be made shiny?
I think this is only meant for the metallic chunks
Will other terrain chunks have different lighting effects added to them, based on their real-life luster?
I think after some point it could be too much effort for what it is
Chunks looks like they are made of plastic, even though it might not be realistic, what is good for aesthetic would be better I belive. But even scientificly they say its shiny.
They do look pretty ok to me. Also remember stuff might not appear exactly the same on the microbe scale as it does on our macroscopic scale.
Apparently, Iron Pyrite has some peroxidase-mimicking activity at the small scales. Could this be a feature eventually added to the game?

Could be too specific and take too much for such a small feature
We do not even have hydrogen peroxidase in the game, and peroxidases can dismantle other compounds, but the gameplay effect would completely on what exact compound weβre talking about. I donβt see anything relevant to Thrive.
We donβt even have peroxisomes in the games that would bring forward any significant reasonage to add such natural peroxidase
