very difficult to make without the ability to spin the editor

Yeah, sometimes you wonder how do people make these nigh perfect large symmetric builds with the current 3D editor…

I might be misremembering, is there no way to spin the camera in the editor?

Nope, doesn’t seem like it’s been implemented…

There is a way, hold down middle mouse button and move the mouse. Also I’m not fully sure but I think it might be possible to rebind the middle mouse button to a keyboard button for example for a two-button mouse.

Oh I see. I think this is also sort of explained in the keybind settings.

I will certainly try this

Pro tip: set up a save right before clicking on the β€œbecome macroscopic” button, that way you can always quickly go into macroscopic editor if you wish to.

Tree House

Very difficult to assemble. I had to jump up every time to interact.
When building it, I Could not stand on it, because moving cancels the building process.
I had to jump, time the button just right, and then build it
In society stage, it is still floating, at my species (pink blob thingy) occasionally floats upwards to get to the building

Nice! I wonder if you can stack buildings on top of each other like organisms in this stage? I would love to make a tree-living civ this way.

Nope, it will always lay on the ground, with the exception of the 1st building if you make it float…

I tried that. It doesn’t work.
In the cut-scene where you build the steam power thingy, the map and all of you buildings kind of disappear. My floating house didn’t though

How did you jump? Which button do you use?

Spacebar. Hold it, and you accelerate upwards. If you let go, you drop.
