oh and the reason i asked it is because aerobic respiration is only necessary for animal life because it provides a lot more energy than everything else, and produces about 42 molecules of ATP from one molecule of glucose(and 42 molecules of ADP), but if atp is being circulated around your body, there’s no reason you need to produce all of your atp for each cell in the cell you use it in, since you can instead have vesicles floating in your cells that collect adp so it can be sent out of the cell, to another type of cell that has the sole purpose of recycling adp(for example, with light, via chlorosomes or thylakoids, or via aerobic respiration), which lets you fuel your entire creature’s atp consumption with one organ, at the simple cost that losing said organ also kills your creature unless it has backups

however, glucose is much smaller, and contains much more energy than atp, but there are also solutions to that(that don’t require oxygen)! irl, there are both electrogenic and electrotrophic bacteria, and irl, neither can handle o2. geobacter metallireducens is a good example of an electrogenic bacterium

but, we can also convert rotation into electricity with some alternating magnetic poles and some coiled nanowires! it is AC though, and that means you’ll have the atp made from splitting water to rotate atp synthase be a wave function unless you evolve semiconductors, but this still lets you produce energy in one cell and move it over to another in a single form that doesn’t require combining stuff or needing things that let you be poisoned by cyanide or CO, though it isn’t exactly as interesting as circulating atp could be
