Living in the Underground

It’s Round 3, so 30 million years and there’s already HUGE biodiversity.

Even larger it’ll get if we manage to sustain the FG…

another thing a player could do is make a viral life stage that’s used to turn other things into their species

Are you willing to go for such a lifestage change?

i might make a virus-like gamete, or a defense mechanism that uses viral particles, but i likely won’t spend a whole life stage on one

So like a virus caste of sorts?

Will the viruses infect planulas of other species? You know, to turn the one cell into your species fast?

I’d think they would go for having the virus infect as much as it can before going into the 2nd lifestage.

Like other non-rock jelly species? Pseudoprotists and the sort?

Would you allow such range of virus target species diversity?

I’d say that the virus should only be allowed to infect rock jellies and their relatives… Actually, how about I introduce some!

Rock sponges: Hardened sessile creatures, designed to filter-feed. With the new polypians, they may face trouble…
Rock fluffballs: Hairy creatures that use cilia to move. The closest relative of the rock jelly.
Rock tailballs: Single cells that have three flagella and pili. The cell in whatever the hell my profile banner is.
Rock blobs: Amorphous cells that use pseudopods to move. Will eat pretty much anything.

I can assume the sponges will be quite of the use in reefbuilding…

I plan on making them look more like corals, actually!

You mean they’ll evolve?

Yeah, they will become “rock corals” later…

I see. Any other such species developments you’d like to share with us?

Yeah, for example, rock blobs becoming trichoplax-like amalgamations.

I see. Do you plan on introducing any more lineages after these you’ve introduced just now?

Have been sick a bit so that’s why I didn’t send second round mutation or was it third…

Vermisamo Sallisaxum will become longer and larger but also migrate slowly upwards towards the ice shelf if they’re not already there, slowly growing acustomed to the different pressure and tempature as it takes on a graduial worm ish shape for locomotive form of swimming

Yes, like myxozoan-like parasites, predator colonies, etc.
