Note that machines could develop completely different ways of reasoning to their creators, not to mention humans.
What if a machine society develops emotions that are deemed “illogical”? Is it even possible machines could become as emotion-driven as their original biological creators?
That depends on if the creators wished to have the machines be emotional.
It would be interesting if machines advanced enough to the point of “experimenting” with emotions, even though they were not originally programmed with them. Kind of like Data and his emotion chip.
I wonder if they could develop emotions beyond what humans can feel…
What about machine hive mind?
It could work pretty definitely. Would probably not be too dissimilar from civs evolved from “swarming” creatures like locust.
I go further
What about machine based life
It would be cool to start life based on self-replicating nanomachines
The origin could be an advanced empire created nano machines and then were sent the wrong planet by accident
It’s like that one episode of Futurama
Cool idea but would probably never be in game
Maybe for a mod
And a mod probably only developable a decade from now at earliest.
Or for lost Self-replicating spacecraft.
Would you just be stuck on the craft or would it crash into some object one day?
No, it is an autonomous space drone capable of self-replication.
Under which stage would that count if you’re only controlling this sole unit?
