idk why the game is so big, maybe because it has 15 scenes?
Perhaps. If it continues like this it could rival a thrive raw release file in size
This game is now even better! There are some things I still don’t like though…
- The stage name text appears too low, and the thing you are playing as covers it when you are moving up.
- In some stages (such as the compound stage), you can’t see the full scale of what you are playing as. Perhaps you could make the camera zoom out the bigger you get?
- There is no credits. How will the players know what music is in the game and how will the musicians get their credit if there are no credits?
- It is still hard or impossible to know how far or close you are to the next stage. Perhaps you could change the “Collide with 20 asteroids to enter the next stage” to “Collide with x more asteroids to enter the next stage” or something like that.
- The brown dwarf stage name is not completely accurate. It should be named the “Protostar” stage or something like that, as a protostar is a star that is forming while a brown dwarf is a failed star.
- At the end of the massive star stage, exploding should be a surprise. Imagine a player’s face when they finnaly collect 20 gas particles only to explode before they can hit the button. The button should stay the same as in any other stage to add to the surprise. Also exploding is a bad thing, so why would anyone without knowledge of how the game works click that button?
- Why can’t I play as a black hole or a galaxy? Will those come later or ever?
None of the additions in this update were overtly bad though, and this game is absolutely better than it was before! Good job.
I also noticed the dust stage is way darker.
(dust stage before)
(dust stage after)
I can now barely find other dust particles because there is a window behind me while I’m playing. Curse you sunlight!
EDIT: Nvm the dust stage before was asteroid stage. But still, I swear dust stage is darker…
I think the “dust stage before” screenshot is of the asteroid stage?
I already edited that into my post.
Must’ve not seen that ig
I think those would be for subgame no. 2
These asteroids make it really annoying to find dust in star stages:
You could make it so that the asteroid ring is smaller.
For some reason, this reminds me of a mass of cancer cells…
It took me around 40 minutes play it all. I like the cinematics and particles, especially the explosion. Near the end, there were too many particles orbiting the star though. So I could only tell the gas particles from the white traces they left behind. I think gas particles could be bigger and have a color different from any other objects to stand out. The star hitboxes also felt kind of off because the particles kept escaping if they were only touching the star from the edges. I think there could be a sound or another effect to tell the player that the next stage is now unlocked (unless you add the progress UI that tells how many left to collect).
Also it can be hard to tell if u absorbed a gas particle as a star once your haze grows that hides them at a close proximity
i will keep that in because its so funny to look at
thats also intentional, to give the sense that you are growing in scale
i will add credits to the homepage on itch
i do not want to add this because it will be a pain to implemented and code, but i will add a counter that shows how many you have collected as a single number.
good idea, i couldn’t find a better name than that
another good idea, instead of the button being activated you will E X P L O D E
thats also intentional. being a black hole is supposed to be the “end” to the game. (or is it.?)
ok, ill make the gas particles bigger, and make the stars hitbox a little bit more accurate.
I feel like it’d be better to have em in both
I agree, I think a product is supposed to come with it instead of the store.
Also since the subgame 2 is supposed to be just 2 stages will it be much shorter @Mr.Pukilar ?
yep, im probably thinking making it only 1, but well see
Will it be a somewhat more feature heavy stage than what we’ve seen thus far?
well you will have to click on flying compounds to get them to the planet, making the planet more and more habitable, and then you’re ready to become life
Will you be forced to play as life when you reach a certain amount of habitability or could you just keep adding those compounds till the end of time?
the game will continue automatically
