New around here!

I recall they are a pretty basic knowledge when it comes to paleozoic animals so I would expect them to know that name

Trilobites! Are quite cool, I like them, because of their shape, and also how long as a group they survived.

Would you say they are a close second to the aegirocarris?

Ehhh maybe… however any Anomalocarid (I think that’s the right term.) Would also be a close second too, I still have again to do more research. My knowledge is basic.

How did you even find out about aegirocarris?

Well, since I do sometimes hyperfixite on things sometimes, I was watching a video one day, about aegirocarris, and then I guess I just remembered them recently, I just kinda thought they were really cool, and also large arthropods are really cool.

Do you find this one cool?

Yeah! I’ve heard of them before, now that I know their name! I find them cool, especially their two claw-like structures, the structures are called Chelicerae right? I find them quite interesting too! Just I don’t really know much about the Silurian, or Devonian as much as I should.

I mean I think they’re cool, just, there is something off about them to me, idk know what, they just feel average despite being unique to me.

Maybe that they are so mundane (lit) and defense-focused?

Potentially, I also feel like they are just a Trilobite rip off, which I know is just entirely untrue, they are much different, but both in general, are defense based, sea invertebrates, that stay low to the ground, in general but I know there are many many differences.

One cool use of horseshoes is that we use their blood for a lot of medical stuff

Aren’t Horsecrabs also unchanged for around 450 million years?

Yeah they are pretty old, though the term β€œliving fossil” itself is somewhat controversial
