I believe Palworld has “small” servers compared to other MMO’s. They might serve as an example of trying to calculate the requirements of a server for Thrive multiplayer. Though by the time it’s done Thrive might need more space/power than Palworld, I am not sure. Still, I think it is the smallest MMO out there, currently. I may be wrong.

To be fair Thrive is not a MMO, though I guess with good coding it could work on small servers like that just fine.

To be fair, I question whether a game with only a double digit number of players should be called an MMO, but Palworld is one of two computer games I know of that has a shared world with a player count not measured in the thousands. The other is a special variant of Skyrim. That one might also work as an example. Both of those games let a player Host a private server. For Skyrim, the player hosting a server is the only way to make it work, though the company that makes Palworld has their own servers.

Edit: For clarification. The people who make Palword have servers that I believe go up to 100. I have seen servers on Player computers reach as high as 32, though 16 is more common. The player hosting a server can make theirs private or public.

By the way, would there being servers also require us to develop exploit detection systems?
