Random Life project

so i started working on a sort of life simulation, where life will evolve from prokaryotes to advanced civilization on its own, you will only watch them, and im making it on godot. since all of my previous attempts on a evolution game on godot failed, im gonna lock in on this one. im making this just to see if anyone would be interested in this project

So basically like thrive but a sim only? And probably simplified along that?

yeah, it will be simplified ALOT gng

Will you be sharing your progress updates on it here?

yeah, i was just about to!

i have learnt to create particles!

Do you want to have your microbe stages be 3d?

yea, my game will use 3 environments (micro, planet and space) and the life will have 13 stages (prokaryote, eukaryote, microscopic multicellular, macroscopic multicellular, aquatic intelligence, land intelligence, sentience, stone age, neolithic age, metal age, industrial age, solar age, galaxy age)

everything will be 3D, and for now there will only be the 1 species youre watching, but after i start working on the intelligence stages, i may add plants

…Why is it not just multicellular and macroscopic, the same way Thrive did it?

i like these names better and also to avoid confusion amongst those who havent played Thrive, you get the idea

So you plan to also promote it beyond Thrive spaces?

probably, ill release alpha versions on itch.io if you wanna test them and give feedback

How long you’ve been working on it?

for the past few hours

also, can you help me? i cant seem to decide if the development of life should happen at fixed intervals, or some conditions must be met, or some other things

Thrive did it at fixed intervals, you are free to choose that or do it like how most other evo games do it, that being rolling a chance to cast random mutations each reproduction

alr, i will too, its the most simple after all

also i finished the model for stage 4 prokaryote (yes, some stages will have substages like this)

and also as you can see im not a great modeller

So what’d you see in the multi macro stage?

i dont understand (min 20 characters so im writing this)

What did you mean by stage 4 in that prokaryote model post then?

i meant the substages, the prokaryotes will go trought 4 substages before reaching the eukaryotic stage

Will eukaryotes have as many substages to go through?
