I thought you were set on the popping os from your previous statements, but I suppose it’s the best for you to decide on this basing off the various conditions you see (and we probably don’t).
Unless you buy old hardware, you should avoid Linux Mint. So if you buy a GPU that is less than a year old, you should probably not use Linux Mint as you will have problems from outdated software. And you can’t easily update those key pieces of software. The easiest way to “update” is to just switch to a different distro.
