It makes sense that organisms migrate, but on scales of millions of years, they migrate to all the places specialized for them, right? (both for player and auto evo)

no, because on second thought, a microorganism in 100 million years would make trillions upon trillions of individuals, and they could spread far and wide, across the entire planet!

Nahh. Yes, their decentants would, but would all the descendants be the same species? Who knows, probably no. Would any indiviual species me omnipresent? Maybe, but now we’re asking a different question.
