what happened to pacmine?
Their laptop broke, after which point they never came back to the forum.
I said that because apparently Skyguy also had their laptop broken at some point in the past.
Part 2 of Round 1:
I want to preface this by saying that the unique species in play here makes it kinda difficult for me to understand how exactly I want to translate the common stats for the game. If you have any suggestions or want your species to be described differently please let me know.
Also, I know its a little late but its still a Wednesday so technically it all counts as being done on time.
Volcer
Species Designation: Craygon Vagus
Biome: Tropical-Zone Waters
Traits:
This species is a large aquatic arthropod capable of flight. It has two pairs of wings, located alongside the upper body of the creature. They are capable of 3-dimensional travel with their wings and are capable of hovering for a limited time. Their telson forms a tail fin, capable of acting as a rudder and a paddle for a quick escape. Due to their size and shape, the Craygon are mainly aquatic, with only a limited ability to travel on land, with their three pairs of legs barely able to support their bulk and mainly being used as additional navigational techniques in the water.
This species has 2 primary appendages capable of object manipulation, with 4 long fingers and a 5th on top forming a pentagon, similar to the (REDACTED) of planet (REDACTED). Their status as an aquatic non-dominate sapient species classifies them as a Class IV Species IAW the Imperial Mandate on Social and Sapient Development (IMD 25.14.12), as such (REDACTED BY ORDER OF ID 11414181). Non-intervention required by Imperial Code Title 18.
Setup: 7/10
The subject chosen for analysis is the “Volcer”, a large collection of Craygon located on the island designated “Morraicano”, an island in an archipelago located in the tropical zone of Aneric. (SEE REPORT APPENDIX 15G).
This population is relatively stable, with development on par with noted specimens (REDACTED). Their culture highly values water, and most of the population is centered around spawning pools that the Craygon are born in, with social ties between the clans based on spawning locations. Leadership is chosen on a semi-democratic basis, with more voice given to the larger and elder Craygon. This chosen Craygon have been observed to travel to nearby spawning clans in times of excess or times of shortage and exchange goods or members of the clan, but otherwise the populations are largely isolated and self-autonomous.
Population and Stability Report:
Stability: Stable (0)- The Volcer are in a state of stability, no known situations of unrest or population turmoil.
Power: Tiny (1)- The population lives in a nomadic lifestyle that is substance based, no noted advantage over comparative societies.
Population: 1,000: The population of this chosen spawn point is currently stable and growing.
Andalatol
Species Designation: Nautilus Anomura
Biome: Cold Subtropical Highland Climates
Traits:
The Nautilus Anomura is a Cephalopod species native to the Cold Subtropical regions of Aneric.
(“Their body is divided into 3 main parts:
Head - they have 2 camera eyes, a pair of rhinophore, a side rostrum with a radula inside it, 6 manipulative outstretched hunting arms with a small thumb on one side and a claw-like point at the end of the gripper on the other side, 40 cirrus for cleaning, [air mixing] respiration and sexual reproduction around the beak and aptychus plates to cover.
Body - 6 thick and robust tentacle arms for walking supported by exoskeleton plates and continuation of Cirrus arms for breathing hole (book lungs). The upper part is covered with wide and relatively protruding exoskeleton plates.
Tail - Aruf looks a bit like the tail of a hermit crab that rises up but they are actually a long segmented shell that curls upwards. Able to move it and straighten up. On the sides there are plates that look like layers used mainly for alerting, communication or movement. Also excellent as a digging and swimming movement (although less effective compared to digging)” Report by SGT Doo Mligh Tning, BIO)
This species exhibits complex social and behavioral characteristics indicative of Sapience. They are known for the creation of mud and grass structures to form shelters and storage and live in Matriarchal social groups ranging from 15-40. They are incapable of vocal communication but have been known to make clicks on their shells alongside color changes to communicate with each other, and mothing females care for the youth with childless females and males form bands to bring food to established shelters.
Setup 10/10
The “Andalatol” are the chosen sample population of Nautilus Anomura. They live in the Subpolar-tundra peninsula of “Santic” located on the far south-western edge of the continent “Suprenia”. This location is known for its complex cave systems, where moss and unrelated lichens are common. Complex life is rare, largely limited to insects and other plantlife.
Their constructions are often complex, largely due to the emphasis that sexual selection puts on the mating pairs to create the structure. It has been observed that Anomura females will often pair with males that share their sense of architectural taste, and that differences in viewpoint will cause the couple to fail and both sides to seek other mates. If the couple is successful in the construction of the structure, they will decorate each other’s tail in a way that marks them as a couple, and the pair will be mated for life, with each year expanding their structure and their decorations. In cases where multiple pairs form around the same structure, the structure will be split between those pairs, and they will form strong social bonds, including the uprising of youth together, though the species tends to mate for life and will not share genetic information between the couples. These couples are often more successful, as only one of the females will raise the young per season, while the other female joins the males to perform the food gathering. Each season, the mating couple expands their structures, and it is noted that the eldest matriarchs tend to have quite large and complex structures alongside the most decorated tails.
Population and Stability Report:
Stability: Stable (0): This population is noted as stable, with amble food and growth.
Power: Tiny (1)- The population lives in a semi-sedentary lifestyle that is substance based, no noted advantage over comparative societies.
Population: 1,000- The population is split between numerous bands numbering between 15-40. These populations are stable and growing.
GIMA
Species Designation: Gamergate Myrmecocystus (COMPUTER RECORDING “I swear to the Creator Jessie, if that name gets into the system I will make your life a living (REDACTED) and I will make sure your (REDACTED)” ID 1LT Tyler Morphis, BIO. “Relax boss it’s just a joke…wait what button did I just press” ID SGT C’ha, BIO)
Biome: Arid
The Gamergate Myrmecocystus is a Eusocial Insectoid species that is noted for the development of complex social interaction at the highest level, akin to the (REDACTED) species of the (REDACTED) located in the (REDACTED) Quadrant. (REDACTED IAW IDD 211.41.0225) [CLASSIFIED] Their status as a Eusocial non-dominate sapient species classifies them as a Class II Species IAW the Imperial Mandate on Social and Sapient Development (IMD 25.14.12), as such (REDACTED BY ORDER OF ID 11414181). Non-intervention required by Imperial Code Title 18.
The Gamergate Myrmecocystus (DESIGNATION GI[ant] M[aurader] A[nt]) form bands centered around a single mated pair, known as the Monarchs. The male and female Monarch create the offspring, divided into three major categories, the “Scout”, the “Repletes”, and the “Vanguard”. The Repletes and Vanguard are modified during their pupal stage to take different forms depending upon colonial pressure, with the Repletes acting as a mobile food storage and the Vanguard acting as the primary fighters of the band. The Scouts are the primary offspring of the Monarch couple and form the basis of the bands growth and development. All unmodified GIMA are born as Scouts. In the presence of an already mated pair, the Scouts will not reproduce due to the constant presence of a special pheromone that the Monarchs release during their reproduction. Should a egg pupate in the presence of the pheromone of its gender, it will become infertile. In cases where the queen or king dies or needs to be replaced, the lacking presence of the pheromone would allow for some of the eggs of that gender to become fertile during the pupation stage, allowing for the Monarchs to be replaced should they perish or be killed.
Interestingly there are instances of supercolonies, where bands occupy the same area, share resources, and coordinate with one another at a much higher level of complexity than typical with the Monarchs separated from each other enough to not interfere with reproduction. These instances rely upon many resources across a large area, upon the reduction of resources these supercolonies will often fall apart, with the bands resorting to warfare or leaving the area.
Setup 18/10
The chosen sample population for this report is a supercolony located on the continent designated “Suprenia”. Their primary feeding ground is located on the “Tesslo Desert”, an arid portion of Suprenia located in the Northwestern Quadrant of the continent.
This population is noted for being one of the most successful populations of the GIMA, containing 3 Monarch Pairs with bands numbering between 200-500, for a total population of over 1,100 GIMA, a substantially large supercolony. The supercolony is currently in no foreseeable danger of dissolution due to the abundant resources currently available.
Population and Stability Report:
Stability: Very Stable (1): The Supercolony is safe for the time, as there are plenty of resources available.
Power: Tiny (0)- The population lives in a nomadic lifestyle that is substance based, no noted advantage over comparative societies.
Population: 1,100 split into three Monarch bands, currently expanding due to abundant resources.
Armofficinas
Species Designation: Industrial Ants
Biome: Semi-Arid
While initially appearing as separate species, genetic tests confirm that the Industrial Ants (DESIGNATION INDU(strial) A(nts)) are a Eusocial Insectoid species that is noted for the development of complex social interaction at the highest level, akin to the (REDACTED) species of the (REDACTED) located in the (REDACTED) Quadrant. (REDACTED IAW IDD 211.41.0225) [CLASSIFIED]. Their status as a biological superorganism non-dominate sapient species classifies them as a Class Z Species IAW the Imperial Mandate on Social and Sapient Development (IMD 25.14.12), as such (REDACTED BY ORDER OF ID 11414181). Non-intervention required by Imperial Code Title 18.
NOT0E BY FIELD TEAM: INDUA exhibits extreme sexual polymorphism and extreme genetic castes reminisce of the (REDACTED), the inspiration to PROJECT (CLASSIFIED). Recommend (REDACTED AND CLASSFIED IAW IMPERIAL MANDATE 211420)
INDUA is capable of extreme genetic polymorphism, based in part upon their diet and the release of specific pheromones during their upbringing. Over two dozen different subcastes have been observed but are generally grouped into two major castes: sessile and motile. At the center of the organic colony are the Queens who provide the command and control for the development of the whole colony. The Sessile caste contains over a dozen subcastes, most of which are designed to store or transport nutrients, pheromones, fluids, or other mechanisms required for the sustainment of the biological colony and to provide support to the Motile caste. The Motile caste varies wildly in size and shape, but generally collects and provide for the nutrients and physical development of the colony.
(CLASSIFIED BY ORDER OF ID 1145467)
Setup 18/10
The “Armofficinas” colony is a massive organic colony located on the continent designated “Orivla”, located on the south-southwestern side of the freshwater lake designated “Askarga”, located in the central interior of the continent.
The Armofficinas supercolony is noted for being one of the largest of the INDUA populations, consisting of over a thousand subclusters connecting over nearly a mile of territory. It is noted for having dozens of subcoordinators. The large number of resources in the area indicates that the population is capable of growing much greater than the next closest in size colony.
Population and Stability Report:
Stability: Very Stable (1)- The colony is in a state of harmony within itself, and there is little to indicate that the colony is in danger of disorder. Network connections are stable.
Power: Tiny (0)- The population lives in a substance-based lifestyle, no noted advantage over comparative societies.
Population: 1,100 subclusters noted by current biological teams, and there is notes that several dozen more subclusters are in the process of being created.
Round 2 Part One should be up Friday!
@Evolution4Weak @sci0927 last two to vote. no rush or worries since my cruise messed up the timeline just fyi
Vote: In order to provide more food to the growing population, Volcer craygons start to experiment with various boat designs in order to be able to store catched food on them when they’re out in the sea, allowing them to expand their hunting grounds further into the ocean and return to their homeland with more food than before.
Vote: Send scouts out to find something which produce sugar be it animal, fungus or plant
How many rounds do you think this game will last?
vote:
scan the area, map any usfull food source that around the possible area
may as well use the water
vote: invent agriculture
Only time will tell tbh, I just hope Skyguy does not get overwhelmed by the sheer numbers and weird species here
Yeah I hope that the FG will last…
vote: have the motile castes look around for animals and plants that we could use to feed the supercolony or that we could trade resources for food with
Already voted here, but I would like to add that for lore that this is one of the major goals laid out during the latest meeting after the influx of people from other tribes
My bad didn’t see that. Thanks to you both.
I wonder when will the first alliances form…
If we just mean an alliance theoretically the super colonies are that as they otherwise don’t tolerate each other if you mean player on player alliance that could be anytime after players find each other and aren’t on war paths
I hope that later on in this game we’ll get a world map of sorts.
Or we’ll make it ourselves.
