Sol I, new life on an old world

Bontopia last visited the forum over 6 months ago, they’re gone for sure.

you already mentioned that, but it’s worth a try

Not sure how they’d react to their species being extinct in sitf after becoming NPC-fied…

I have must been forgoten

  1. Improve membarin
  2. Develop the Peroxisomes organell

Which of this is the mutation and which is the action?

the ones with an a are actions, and the ones without are mutations

So doom has two actions and mutations?

you can only have 2 mutations or actions, either one of each or 2 of one

They have edited their message now to only be two mutations (I think?).

ROUND X

As you and your peers continue working on refining both your software and hardware, your capabilities expand. Soon, the first few of these "upgrades will be complete, and you can begin diverging from your original goal, having actual interest like in your old lives.

That is still in the relatively distant future, however; for now, it’s once again time to get to work.

Ship logs
Sensor feed
New data (setting updates)

It didn’t take me long to realize AI updates could lead to exponentially more dramatic changes, I’ll experiment with caps and other balance measures, but for now, just know AI updates only need to be executed once, but will take multiple rounds to install, more specifically 3 after you state you want them.

species present: Minima Excandescentia(+), Kamen Yanju, Methanum Producentis(-), Archetypus Penguin, Stella Micans (-)

El Charco sedimentopelagic
species present: Minima Excandescentia

Laboratory-Geology

Sea surface: where this whole experiment began, this biome is has a relatively low salinity compared to the rest of the sea, it also gets somewhat illuminated at noon

Sea Mediopelagic: the collective term that defines most of Earth’s new seas, stretches from the depth at which the sun’s light can no longer reach further nearly to the sea floor

Sea Sedimentopelagic: a brine pool even by this world’s standards, not the true sea floor as salt becomes the main component instead of water before you can reach actual rock; however if you can surive most of the sea’s salt, you’ll be rewarded with most of every other non-organic compound the sea has accumulated

I keep forgetting to post my own actions, I’ll try to avoid this going forward, but for this round know that I’ve begun work on a personal spacecraft to explore and fill in the gaps in our sensor feed

Since Bontopia is a NPC now, do YOU now make their votes?

I think I’ll just leave it unchanged

Will the AI of Bontopia “deactivate” after a while?

I will make proper “archive” section for NPC-ified species later

By the way, where are we getting resources to build new stuff? From the rings?

I’m not intending to make many resource management mechanics, but in lore, yeah, you could say we’re mining the rings, and maybe once different people (including myself) begin exploring the system, I’ll say there’s some nondescript mining platform here or there

I presume we still need to have a majority of out focus on the species of ours?

correct, it’s our job, after all; other stuff like exploration is just there for flavor

What if one abandoned their species?

we can’t, otherwise the government “pulls the plug”, removing the AI from the Indiana Jones, redownloading it somewhere else, and making it stand trial
