Still, there isn’t that much in the water outside of the conodonts and lingula, although the nematodes are definitely coming up. Which is strange considering I expected a huge return to the ocean for the arthropods.

It looks like everyone wants to do their own thing.

I would generally like to keep springtails generalists.

Is doomlightning the only surviving plant species in this FG?

Then again, this FG only spans 15 million years so we won’t be getting any whale-roaches.

No there’s moss which is Cha. Whom I believe is trying to colonize the ocean.

I did the calculations and the biggest you’d be able to reach within the FG timescales is around the size of a guppy. Which would take a couple rounds.

They were wiped out due to their seeds not surviving

The trigonotarbids eating stuff is the only reason the roaches aren’t overpopulated so there’s that.

So far it seems to look more like competition than anything.

Could I also cultivate Cha’s species in the ocean, like Phytoplankton/Algae?

Probably not.

Nobody seems to directly be within an arms race right now. Although I expect the mangroves to turn into a complex ecosystem.

His salt-slick strategy might push away any herbivorous colonists from the mangroves. I did some calculations and it’d only take 50k years (less than one turn) to 10m years (20 turns) for roaches to be mangrove dwellers. With 50k years for semi aquatic and 10m for fully. Although dumbthriver seems to be going for the mole strategy.

Again. That’d take underwater respiration which’d take a while more than it’d be worth. I could see him be like crayfish. Although he’s going for a more millipede type playstyle.

Yeah this place will probably get stranger as time goes on even past the FG, considering this scenario wipes out 99.9999% of life on earth. Compared to even the great dying which wiped out 95% of life.

Any future visitors would likely be very confused.. I wonder what they would think
