I think they would know they did this on purpose, for how would the monolith have hit the planet if not that it was launched at it specifically?

Maybe we’ll find out in the other games… Also I’m pretty sure any advanced civilization would probably be dead or so extremely advanced from the point it started that it would be unrecognizable as the same species.

I feel like I’ve become a particularly powerful motivator! I guess my strategy is working for now - for everyone.

But knowing that, the mangrove is primarily a shelter for many species - even sharks lay their eggs in mangroves these days - so even if they can’t exactly eat me, there are still possible food sources - the mosses that can get trapped between the roots, safe shade for microorganisms (like in shade houses) and the fact that it technically adds more soil for soil creatures with roots [not to mention my spore capsules (pseudo-seeds) that can be used as a food source if they manage to open the capsule or the fact that I’m vulnerable at a young age [though not entirely, with the silica that wears away the medables. Look at how old horses lose their sleep over grass - which also has silica, albeit less than horsetails]].

I guess I’m at least a keystone species in the current ecology and

That and moss can grow on trees, which interesting about moss rather varied survival strategies despite being β€œsimple” things.

Looking back at this, considering you’re already the size of a guppy you’ll probably be able to get much bigger than I thought.
