That is one smart cow!

Maybe it just happens to be one that decided to show off itโ€™s folkโ€™s true intellect?

This type of behavior would be suspicious in Planet Genesis[1].

  1. Especially since I played as a Bull Ompard โ†ฉ๏ธŽ

Unfortunately we wonโ€™t be seeing it pop up in a dead FG

When are cows entering the iron age?

Iโ€™ve heard the horses already did, they have iron clad horseshoes since a few thousand years apparently

I wonder if someone is going to eventually make an FG about thisโ€ฆ

While weโ€™re talking about animals going up to civ status, some tribes of monkeys and apes are currently in the stone age

Some otters are also in the stone age Iโ€™ve heard

I wonder when they will start throwing spears?

When they learn to make multi part tools

throwing is actually very very hard biologically

you can make a decent spear by sharpening a stick and heating it in a fire to harden it, using a second material isnโ€™t required

Well putting a sharp stone at itโ€™s end would sure make for an extra deadly weapon

When I was like 6-8 years old I came up with the idea that every animal no matter how small or large is conscious and everyoneโ€™s only okay with eating each other because no one can understand species other than their own.

Tbf even if not correct we would probably eat other animals a lot less if they could communicate in ways indicative of advanced intelligence.

Cannibalism is still a thing though

Honestly, consciousness just being a byproduct of having a brain at all is kind of horrifying. It means that nearly over a trillion thinking and feeling agents are snuffed out on the regular, whether eaten by another animal or by natural disasters.

It also means that suffering is the rule, not the exception.

What would we really be without consciousness?

Yeah, I personally think that consciousness is needed for most complex animals to function. Even if theyโ€™re less smart they probably still feel and experience.

Otherwise weโ€™d be in a vegetative state Iโ€™d imagine?
