To manually change your archetype would require an action, since your actions have been more combat focused and less expansion focused.

I only have done one combat oriented action a turn, and the past few turns I have done at least 4 different population/research oriented actions

I’m trying to make Iragarmen, which is somewhat similar to Buddhism, a major religion.
This game started in deep prehistory and there’s likely still a few pockets of neanderthals, which were a major force into early history in this timeline. Don’t put too much weight on what our history looked like at whatever year. If Nover wants Kugelland to be Germanic, they’re Germanic.
