I came up with another war balloon design, pretend the other one doesn’t exist

Apparently my balloon design was inn a private thread, so here it is

the bombs are stacked within the basket.

Should i invite @doomlightning to the all of the private threads just so he has all the info?

well, pretty much all of the private threads are disused/outdated. But sure, i guess they can look at them to understand some of the discussions.

Everyone’s sharing art so might as well post the image of Kugelland’s flying lantern

it doesn’t look the best

Do the letters mean something? Or are they also purely decorative

The ones on the sides say Kugel and the ones on the center say Land (Yeah, i’m not the best with ideas)

Might also post the updated Kugelland alphabet

Holy, I just wake up to see my inbox floating on info XD
need time to read XD

I very much agree with this. I have an idea where each person of a certain job PRODUCES X amount of product/service (be it wheat, cleaning, cows, or metal) While each person CONSUMES a certain amount of resources. Researching new technology would affect how much of that resource is produced per person. For example: Farmers in Mongolia produce 2 extra food per farmer. Each person needs 0.5 food. If there are 1000 farmers and 4000 other people, everyone is fed. But if there are say, 2000 farmers and 3000 other people, 2500 food is left over for exportation and selling. Then Mongolia could improve farming via better tools, and even more crops would be available for exportation. This can be applied to the whole country AND/OR cities (I like the city idea because then there would be trade routes and interaction between cities in the same country).

Another idea is apportioning land within cities and the country as a whole. You could choose how much land is given for farming, research, herding, etc. and a certain amount of workers could use that land. For example,(These numbers are completely random) I give 50 acres of FERTILE ground to farmland. 5 farmers can work this land and produce 3 excess food each. This also helps with resources, as certain places are more fertile/ rich in minerals than others.

Edit: my currency

One problem with research is the lack of accuracy. For instance, what is Physics 1, 2, 3 or 4? Shouldn’t we make several research points based on the most important discoveries such as Newtonian motion versus the theory of impetus, Archimedes’ principle, etc.? For math, there would be natural numbers, null value, integers, rational & irrational numbers, arithmetic, algebra, calculus, etc.
Also, instead of having different technologies, I suggest the implementation of diffusion in future games as it would be more realistic since human civilizations always used technologies given by foreign travelers.

The thing about absolute values for like land or resources is that they get very complicated very easily and you don’t really need something like that, i think using either relative values or even just something abstract like levels is better.

Having levels makes it much harder to decide how much of the resource is exported, which i think would be an interesting game mechanic. One of the problems you stated was lack of need to trade and be political. If people have infinite money, the problem doesn’t change, but if exporting a certain amount of products give you as certain amount of money, which you can then use to get something else, makes a much more dynamic and realistic economic system.

I like a lot of these ideas. I think this weekend I’ll develop a proto-round that kind of encompasses the ideas I’ll be incorporating in order to kind of show what it would look like. That way adjustments can be made and it can serve as a model for the real round.

You can still have exports and things like that with levels, it actually becomes easier as you are dealing with smaller numbers more whole numbers

for example if I had 5 levels of iron, i can trade 2 levels for 2 levels of wealth or a new resource called money

also levels fits more with this game as a lot of other statistic are already level based

i do see the problem of fineness where 1 level of 10 is a lot compared to x amount of resource but that can be solved with more levels (we probably want 20 levels as that seems to me be the right ammount)

yes, one of the reasons i suggested the numbers was because it allowed small interactions/trades, like between cities. When you can only trade in (relatively) large units of levels, trading between cities and settlements is defeated.

Perhaps the proto-round should be in the Research thread? Also, does it follow the current round or is it really just a proto-round for testing?

No, it’s an example round using made up values.

Since the game is about to resume, and we passed the 1 CE mark, i think we should have a second unofficial official thrive odyssey ranking. Yes, No?

That sounds like a good idea but if it happens i think it be something i work on later/ more of a group thing, right now i am a bit busy with school and other things
