Er, depends how you look at it. That’s how I see the things.

The causes for war

  • The Bronze Embargo (which, while obviously caused by Pentaphon, is nothing more than just an excuse for the Bananaramanians to continue with their expansionist policy. It’s, in a way, like Danzig - you can’t blame the Poles for refusing to give it considering it’s importance. That is why Pent shouldn’t be held responsible for the events that have occurred after the embargo.)

  • The expansionist policy of Bananarama (Zen is responsible for this, obviously. He’s running a militarized state that’s living off constant war. His actions against the “Losers” have proven that. But in the end, even his policy is just a reflection of the realpolitik occuring in the Mediterranean, where allies betray each other and enemies shake hands. Zen has just found an efficient, until now, way to run his state and survive.)

Reasons for the extension of the conflict

  • The Bananaramanian coalition (Zen responded to the embargo by preparing for war and dragging in as many countries as possible, which caused a disaster unseen until now.)
  • The Mongols (By declaring war on Zen, the conflict grew really big. The Mongols gave hope to the Mediterranean of getting rid of the aggressive Bananaramanian warmongers.)
  • The betrayal of TeaKing (The fate of Zen was set in stone when his allies betrayed him. With the Mongols marching towards him and his own allies against him he had no chance. The war became rather one sided.)

Long story short: TeaKing, Zen and OoferDoofer are responsive for the current events, tho it seems that only Zen will get punished because the chances for him turning the tables in his favour are low imo
