What sort of a star does this planet orbit to have it’s plants be of a purple colour?
Pretty much any G type star can support purple plants pretty well. If the plants I drew use bacteriochlorophyll a then they would be quite effective with a sun similar to our own, although maybe the heat produced could be a problem, but I’ll just say this planet has higher atmospheric pressure since that allows for faster heat transfer and makes sense with hydrogen sacks being used since they could provide more buoyancy at a smaller size.
How large / close is that moon in the background? Is the planet locked onto it?
I didn’t think much about the moon, I added it just because. I doubt the planet would be tidally locked to it, though, I’m pretty sure that would take a REALLY long time.
The bigger and closer a moon is, the more it slows the planet’s rotation down, until it gets locked onto the moon

In order to survive sometimes you have to do the side and run away from those who are hungry to become their next meal.
There is no better place than to escape to the dry land above.
A dry, hot, stuffy, blinding and burdensome place. But for escaping, there is no better alternative than this.
With the movement of the wings of its large fins, it crawls on the bumpy sand found on a rocky shore. The shell on it helps to relieve the drying light while continuing to crawl on the sand. He didn’t go a long way until he felt safe from the competition of life.

They must’ve had a lot of opportunities to diversify during all that time between their emergence and the present.
