Do you think nvidia will just go back to being pre-bubble size when it bursts or will it decline much more harshly?

it depends wildly on how nvidia handles it. A agressive play to pivot back to gamers, say, loosening up and giving plenty of VRAM in a dirt cheap mid-generation refresh, could help out a ton and actually scrape back whatever market share theyโve lent to intel and whatnot (some of it has to be theirs), while executive flailing, or doubling down, or even a well planned attempt to pivot back that was too aggressive, say, attempting to undercut vendors or buy them out, could spell disaster.

i mean. i count how theyโre handling the bubble as a great financial decision. Itโs just an incestuous circular pyramid scheme with no product that will inevitably collapse. Requiring your product to get in on it is a great financial position, iโd be happy to be in it, unless the FTC ever enforced any laws, then i wouldnโt. If nvidia sees the writing on the wall early, pivots to something safer, etc, before alll of the money drains out, theyโll be fine, comparatively (AI crashing may bring down the economy with them, who knows). If they try to keep the AI money, or otherwise refuse to accept the bubble, and quickly, itโll go poorly.

nope. I mean, they sold a real product, innovated new tech, and didnโt even lie about much. Microsoft and openai and anthropic and every other goddam company cannot say the same. OpenAIโs NAME is a lie. Nvidia would only be hated out of envy for how much money they made, of if theyโre the last one standing and thereโs no one else to hate
