Every strategy can result in extinction, yet that isn’t a reason to scrap the whole game. Even so, there isn’t much that’s unique to cancers in terms of adaptations
Playing a cancer cell is like playing a disease at home imo
yeah but theres absolutely no need. like who, in their right mind, for anything but a challenge run, is going to evolve into a cancer, almost definitely without a tutorial, and survive long enough to develop a brain for a second time, organs a second time, intelligence, (by now they arent a cancer, at best theyre a parasite) and then get into the tech stages. Youre doing the same thing as with the underwater civs, deciding a feature that has no real potential to allow you progress through the game and has no examples in nature has to exist. at least this time its not impossible, and you aren’t failing to explain your ideas completely, so props to you for that. also if you want to duscuss this anymore (up to and including a single reply) DM me or make a thread @ ing me. we should get off topic.
some achievement ideas
A country of the people, for the bureaucracy: become a nation-state or civilization-state
Smeltle le Meltle: Attain smelted metal as a completely underwater civ. (please tell the Thrive devs about the bug you exploited unless this game is modded, it helps with development)
Orwellian: Completely de-tangle the information available to the citizenry from reality and attain absolute power.
Huxleyan: Completely eliminate suffering by any means necessary.
What fascinates me most is if two stages could somehow interact like playing as a cell in multicellular (but that wouldn’t be fun[1] unless you are a pathogen) or an individual in society stage
