Aren’t we already trying to bring back Mammoths? And we are able to reconstruct DNA from 2.5 Million Years Ago. So with more advances in DNA sequencing techniques, 3 million year old DNA seems possible.

We’ve been trying to do that for decades now at this point and nothing ever came from it. It just keeps being pushed back every few years…

With people putting Woolly Mammoth fur genes in mice, we are slowly getting there. Will humanity be able to de-exinct the Mammoth in our lifetimes? Who knows, but it seems more possible than before.

To be fair there are certain issues we should be addressing more than attempting to de-extinct a species living no more…

Europe - Name a music group after an important place in your species universe.

Atlantis: Name an ocean after a myth

Titans: Create a large intelligent species.
Hobbits: Create a small intelligent species.

Orcs: Create an intelligent species with many deformations

Elves - make a beautiful, humanoid-like race with long hair, and they basically don’t die unless they are killed in battle or take poison.

Also, hilariously, searching “elves” in this thread brings up posts with “themselves”!

Ogres: Develop a tanky sapient with the skin color the same as the planet’s flora

Orm’s Naruto Run - Have a species that is used to moving underwater put their arms/appendages behind them for faster movement when they are underwater. However, they still put their arms behind them when moving on land, making them appear like doing a Naruto run on land.

I believe those are called moonmoons, and that leads to the obvious possible achievement:

Moonmoonmoon: have a moon of a moon of a planet you have discovered gain a natural satellite (knocking an asteroid into orbit counts as natural enough).

Orbitception - Have an object orbit around another object, and that object having another object orbit around it, e.t.c., in as many levels/tiers as possible allowed by physics.

I think it’s better to rename it “moon³”
