I thought any rock could be considered ore, as long as it has stuff of value to us in its composition.

Well yes but most ores look different the just normal rock, after all they have large quantities of metals. I suppose the geological formations looked like your average ore formation, but turned out to just look like it.

2027: NASA is still making the rocket. They run into a financial problem however.
Late 2027: Atlas’ super soldiers are finished, but they are not cost efficient, this puzzles some officers. The brainwashing is incredibly cost efficient though, but the brainwashing of all of the US’s POWs is not taken to kindly by the world at large, or the American populace. The UN begins the process of finding out what to do with the US, and the Inquisition, who have also been using many unethical methods to combat their larger foe. The Second Korean War, as the internet dubbed it, is getting to be a large problem, as costs and deaths rocket up drastically. Climate change brings several droughts to several African countries. Europe has mixed responses to being the most peaceful place on earth. The European internet users enjoy gloating about their awesomeness, while the most of the governtments start relief missions.
Edit: Australian internet users object to the Europeans claimes of being the coolest, and the New Zealanders complain about being ignored.

Early 2028:A massive meteor,estimated to be 50 kilometres in diameter was detected by NASA,with its scheduled to impact just a a day after detection.Many blamed the late awarness of the celestial body on the recent focus of budget on developments of rockets.Nevertherless,this has caused an outrage among the populace all over the world(Except for The PRC((censorship))) but it was futile to do anything in order to survive their impeding doom.It is estimated to land somewhere near The Kunlun mountains.Many broadcasters requested access from the Chinese goverment,hoping to show live the impending doom but was refused without exception.Interestingly though,as the meteor blazes up in the sky,there was no impact.Sudden confusion was prevelent around the world with many goverments equally confused,requesting access from china once more in order to investigate the presumed impact location but was once again refuses

The Inqisison is having internal governing issues, as three factions emerge. The radical radical right, the radical left and the vertical faction (those who hate the whole system and wish to utterly reorganize everything). The US Army and police are filled to the brim with conservitives and all the politicians are mostly progresive. This binary state of affairs and it’s rival’s trinary state is harming both of the countries’ stability. Atlas has designed a VPN for itself and has retreated into the internet.
