Will it be possible to build cities on large enough asteroids for mining and processing minerals?
If someone implements it… maybe.
I guess this is a new topic as only making asteroids into spaceships has been talked about before.
Here are a few of my ideas(might edit later if I come up with more), your early asteroid bases when you are in early interplanetary expansion, as I see it, would be similar to the colonies from this rim world mod, Empires(Steam Workshop::Empire), you can designate types of settlements, building types, Defense types, etc) During the early space stage you have to manage the launch window(which will probably be implemented with the space stage’ actual development, even though there’s great progress being made with the prototypes), Then as it grows, as you make more, they stay like that until you have dozens of these asteroid cities in a few star systems, and then they will not be visible, just like a stream of money and resources. By the late space stage(when you are actually considering Dyson swarms and things like that),most of the non-inhabited asteroids will probably just be dismantled by the player to be used as part of a Dyson swarm or an asteroid habitat/spaceship(which one would start making in the early-mid space
