Can I port thrive to the Nintendo GameCube

Only if the creators authorize.Because I like GameCube and I like thrive too

  1. You don’t need any authorization as the game is open-source.
  2. Thrive uses the game engine Godot and it doesn’t support the Game Cube by default. However, if you’re a real genius, you could somehow make it work.

If you can pull that off, HELL YEAH, I love the GameCube, I once tried to set up a development environment but it went wrong, and I was busy.

Thrive source code is licensed under the GPLv3 license, meaning you already have permission to port Thrive to whatever system you want (as long as you share your modified Thrive source code also under the GPLv3 license).

That means that just the technical hurdle exists for a port like this.

Yep, this is right. I don’t think anyone has tried to make Godot Engine work on a GameCube before but it is probably possible. However, it is going to extremely difficult. This is even harder than porting Thrive to Android or iOS, or to a current generation console.

So a port like this is not impossible but extremely difficult.
