Itβs really annoying to have to go to the main menu just to view the achievements. Especially when you already beat the game and trying to get all achievements.
I donβt know how difficult would it be for a button straight to the achievement list to be made, and the dev team currently has other priorities.
Welcome to the forum @sedigoj664 !
Itβs true that thereβs no way to check the achievements from the pause menu. This is not really a bug, more like a missing feature / feature request.
In the Steam version of the game, canβt you use the Steam in-game overlay to check the achievements? I think you should be able to access the list of non-unlocked achievements. That makes this a pretty low-priority feature to do, and I will not have time to spare for this before the next release. So someone else would need to volunteer to write this feature (GitHub - Revolutionary-Games/Thrive: The main repository for the development of the evolution game Thrive.).
Why I didnβt originally add a way to check the achievements in the pause menu was that the achievements would need to refresh if they are in the pause menu, because the player can make progress on one during gameplay and then immediately pause and go check there. Whereas in the main menu the achievements data can be read just once and built into a list for display without needing to add the extra refresh logic needed as no progress can be made in the main menu on achievements.
Should the achievements also be displayed in the Thriveopedia? Maybe at least the list of them could be found in the Thriveopedia if it is too much hassle to add the refresh logic.
Wouldnβt this cause the same problem since you can also view the pedia from the pause menu?
It would basically list the achievements and their descriptions, not whether you have gotten the achievements. I hope what I wrote makes sense.
Even if you havenβt unlocked them?
Yes. Like I said, it would be just be the descriptions of the achievements (with the respective pictures), like how the Thriveopedia describes organelles.
If this was to be implemented would changes also be made to the main achievement view?
I donβt see a reason for why the main achievement view would need to be changed.
Since I think I recall not everything about an achievement was said in thereβ¦
