I just discovered that If you make your species all the opportunistic and aggressive early on, everything that evolves from you will be opportunistic and aggressive enough to charge directly towards you. If you are bigger than them, they will still charge directly at you. You won’t have to chase your dinner, because the dinner chases itself for you.

This actually occurs naturally, albeit, very rarely in the game with AI cells due to Auto-Evo. This is why people sometimes put bug reports about AI cells suiciding themselves on Player cells, such as Suicidal Microbes Abound.

I presume an alternative to that would be making your descendants sessile and unwilling to fight back?
