I would like to see such an ending because it would better convey the meaning of evolution, and also allow you to complete the game not only as an intelligent organism, thereby making the game more interesting
So you want a sudden end screen if you play the space stage too well? I think the goal of ascension is perfect, because you can’t accidentally do it, and for people who want to just not go for the ending can just keep playing.

I think that generally, this would be more of an optional achievement in the game. Depending on how far out of their way the player would have to go to achieve this, it might be suitable to have an in-game video to celebrate it. It could also be something to add into a hardcore mode as a prerequisite for ascension. Again, I think the likelihood of that would depend on how much extra time and effort the player would have to put into the run.
