It can go even faster if there were more patreon subscribes.

And the more outreach Thrive has, the more people interested in becoming patrons will flock in.

now that I think about it, more people becoming interested in thrive will probably lead to an influx of new people on the thrive forums

one of the key factors for Thrive’s popularity is that it holds the title of “Spore 2”, and Spore was pretty silly at times, but its players didn’t mind because it didn’t need to be too complex

keeping in mind these 2 factors, we must ask ourselves… how long do we have until the Civilization Type Who Shall Not Be Named gets proposed again?

I’d give it about 5 minutes…

yeah, probably somewhere around that, a few planck times later, they’ll start talking about hydrothermal vents…

a shame really, I enjoy creating life and civilization in extreme environments, and I’d like to try my hand at pure-aquatic civs one day, but by the time I am ready and have the requiered documentation, everyone will be utterly sick of them

I think we should expect an influx with 1.0.0 release. Or 2.0.0 since it’s supposed to be released only 18 months after 1.0.0 (which at the present would be late 2026 to early 2027).

I wonder just how many people may flock in tho… Don’t think as many as from Oliveriver’s Thrive video.

1.0 should get at least some flock in, but 2.0 will likely get allot more. Then things like expansion of the Class system, Skeletal types (Soft Skeleton, Exoskeleton, and Endoskeleton), adding additional Biomes, Generation and Manipulation of Materials (Silk, Honey/Wax, Calcium Carbonate, etc), Movement types (flying, burrowing, climbing. etc), Base Building (nests, dams, burrows, hives, etc), and other features of the Aware stage will keep them coming in droves.

This is especially as aware stage will be the equivalent to the creature stage, which in itself was pretty much the gem of spore.

I got that impression too. The Microbe stage has incredible depth, but if people are looking at this as Spore 2, they won’t be very interested, because the Cell stage was essentially Spore’s tutorial. Once we get to Multicellular we might see an influx of people - although I wouldn’t count the eggs before they hatch. Thrive might well remain niche. It all depends on whether it gets spread.

That being said, all it takes is one YTer picking it up, even just for an episode, and we might well double the number of people on the forums. All the more reason to get more work done.

Forums are no longer a popular thing, I’d rather expect the thrive discord to grow instead.

Epic new update. Dare I say kino? Or whatever people say now
