Edapt

For the record, eventually I want to have as many things as possible, so as long as you suggest something I’ll probably add it eventually.

Not as rare in Igo-ora, Nigeria, Kodinhi, India, and CΓ’ndido GodΓ³i, Brazil. Places with the higest twins birth rates in the world.

Just how common are twins in there?

45 per 1000 in Igo-ora and Kodinhi, which is over 10 times the national average twin birthrates of Nigeria and India, respectively. My cursory research finds that because of specific neighborhoods, or parts of the city. In CΓ’ndido GodΓ³i, they have a 10% twin birth rate due to descending from Polish/German ancestry of the HunsrΓΌck region of Germany, which also has a higher than average twin birthrate.

But again, how much would this mode of reproduction really differ from having a larger brood size? Would it just make all the siblings identical?

Higher probability of being identical, since living Twining occurs rare, but scientist suspect Vanishing twins occur at a rate of 1 in 8.

Perhaps twining/multip identical births could increase cohesion between siblings/units?

Wouldn’t it also decrease the genetic diversity in a population of such a species when compared with a population that doesn’t have such an excessive twinning?

Yes, so it needs to be balanced against diversity. Probably a reason (among other factors, such as diet with Yams[1] and genetic descent) for why it happens relatively rarely.

Should there also be a reproduction mode for where a sexually reproducing species goes back to reproducing asexually via a form of Parthenogenesis?

Another reminder that this is the Edapt thread, where we talk about Edapt and Edapt related things. Is this even related to Edapt anymore?

I think those were suggestions for stuff to add in the future?

Yes. We wanted to flesh out how Polyembryony could work and be balanced.

They were but I can’t really add them right now. Perhaps you should make this it’s own topic?

Do we really need 2 threads for edapt?

Can’t we just search for the ideas that we suggested on this thread using the search function?

I mean a thread for

Huh, so AA was suggesting it for Thrive too?

Considering how short of a discussion it was for in regards to Edapt (not including background information), is it necessary to make a separate thread for it?

Yea I think we can just leave it at this point we left it at.

I presume the requirements for nucleus will be the same as in Thrive they are?

There will be no requirement for anything. I want to make it so that there is natural pressure to evolve correctly and get the nucleus rather than using requirements.
