A Eurypterid is also @yyryy’s profile picture.

It’s infact the very same Eurypterid as the one on the image above…

It’s because I like extinct arthopods or arthopod-like creatures. But my favourite animal is a very unknown species called Cyanorus Singularis!

How did you find out about this rather obscure species of the Precambrian period?

Got too intrested into D:ckinsonia after watching a video and found out about its family. I saw Cyanorus Singularis and that is it.

Is it confirmed to have been blue?

I think it is just for artistic purposes. It’s name comes from Blue Mountain, where it was first found. It would be nice to have more blue animals, though…

I’d doubt that an animal-like so simple would have developed such a color, especially as sight wasn’t developed yet by that point.

Aren’t some Stentors blue due to Stentorin? And Stentors cannot see, either…

We don’t have real evidence for that sort of exotic coloring in the whole Ediacaran lineage…

True. But artists have to take some creative liberties to make things look more interesting…

Most of these would probably look more bland in real view… But I guess not all artists want to picture them that way.

Let’s hope there is some DNA somewhere so we can recreate it…

In case people are wondering, this is from Cambrian Stage 3–Wuliuan.

Judging from it being a Cambrian critter, chances are there are no preserved DNA pieces from that animal species remaining.
