After all, itβs simple. Many people imagine reconstructions if dinosaurs based on bone alone. But if we did that for a baboon, it would look horrifying. So, a logical assumption would be that dinosaurs had fat, lips, gums, etc.

In general on Earth intelligence of species increased over time, so the βsentient lineagesβ like hominids or corvids only emerged rather recently. That being said, I remember I read somewhere that T. Rex-es for example mightβve reached the intelligence level of Baboons, though obviously we donβt have any living specimens to confirm that.
