Not right now. Though I guess it’s atleast more reasonable that JP’s ape-level velociraptor intelligence.

Hilariously enough, I used to refer to Velociraptors are β€œVelocichickens” when I was younger, since all those feathers made them look like, well, chickens.

Where were they depicted with such featherage for you?

I think when I first looked a picture with a velociraptor will full feathers, over some 20 years ago.

The feathered dinosaurs movement is still a large minority despite the fact being known for decades now… I do hope this will finally change before the century comes to it’s middle…

Worst come worse, people genetically engineer chickens to look more like β€œregular” dinosaurs (even though chickens are Avian Dinosaurs).

Wasn’t the chicken project or whatever was it called supposed to be complete by this year? Guess it’ll get delayed to 2030 or smth.

It was delayed because they couldn’t find the atavism for tail growth, meaning that the tail gene was completely erased through evolution. If the atavism for tail growth was still there it would have been completed. I think they are looking to grow the tail using genes from crocodiles or even rats to get the tail going.

I recall recently they made some further research into the tail development and made some progress in this area, but not sure how that impacts the future timeline of that project.
