I wonder how many sapient species may we encounter…

Maybe there’ll be as much of them as the players?

Technically - I wouldn’t define the players’ minions as existing races (except for one Origin that is said to be).

But a few important things - I can’t say how many there really are - whether they are Sentients or Sapiens is up to you to decide when you meet them, all types of membrane are in the world. Exceptions in the category are Ekconoids, being as unstable as they are and Iosidis, who are known to never be a group of their own.

Their location in the world is very elusive such as tribes or isolated colonies. Not the whole world is under the control of empires as you know.

So for you, the world is very mysterious and it’s just more worth knowing what’s in it.

Do all Dungeon Cores succeed at “emerging” or do some fail at that?

From the classic definition of the story - all players are the only dungeon cores that have managed to “crystallize”, meaning there are no other cores except you. But there are probably huge concentrations of “Origin” chevrons scattered around the world, so technically - alot more fail, but it’s like comparing inanimate objects to living ones in this case.

What is the stage between chevrons and “crystallize”? (Spoiler - this is not a technological or magical way to do this - so neither you nor NPCs can create additional versions of dungeon cores even if you manage to find chevrons.

Can chevrons be absorbed to make a DC stronger in some way?

Yes, it is very possible, but it will require technology research and finding one that fits your origin (not an easy task and you will probably never find one, defined as extremely rare)

but what if it doesnt fit our origin
can we just not eat the chevrons, or are they like poison

It will act like poison because it is against you. But that is only true for chevrons. Real solid cores can be eaten without too many effects, but even without a special augment, it won’t really do anything except for gain control of his possessions and maybe a HP bonus.

So there are Bountronoids that aren’t bound to a core?!

Yes, these are the Chevrons I’m talking about.

What if someone made chevrons out of a dungeon core?

literally what would happen if i made my minions then someone killed me.
or at least it’d be similar if they dont get control of them automatically

If they’re gestalt or hivemind they probably die alongside you
If they’re individual then idk

gestalt will become lifless (die with u)
hivemind will still be alive, but without queen (u), they will be most likely go on chaos without any leader on they mindhive

indevual will become wild

Didn’t expect hivemind to live core’s death…
