I’ve spent hours playing the game but I’m still quite a beginner so I don’t exactly know how to progress to make my cell be something I want.
I need to have a cell which has damaging pili. Then I can go to a more big cell to be engulfed and try to escape. So I need someone who can say how I need to progress through the game to have damaging pili and the ability to escape while being engulfed.
So there are two possibilities. Toxins and chitinous/cellulose membrane. How do I need to evolve to have one of them plus damaging pili? What should I spend my MP for from start to get them?
If you are trying to close the GitHub issue you can just use cheats. Membranes you can change them in Membranes tab in cell editor and toxins you just add toxin vacuoles. I guess you’d need to rely on compound clouds as only these you can absorb to get energy, or photosynthesis. So photosynthesis, glucose, hydrogen sulfide or iron
@Artem, don’t you have this backwards? The issue is about the player dying when ejecting something. So your cell just needs to be big enough to eat whatever AI cells there are around that have a pilus angled so that it can deal damage on eject.
Yes, I was thinkining about it. But in this way how can I be sure the auto evo will produce a cell with characteristics I need like a pilus and toxins, for example, as a way to be ejected? So I thought it would be more easy to simulate the situation from another side because this way it seems more predictable to achieve.
Actually I didn’t know about cheats. So now I’m gonna see what they are.
A few releases ago we added a button to eject all engulfed cells. So you just need to find an AI cell with a pilus, which shouldn’t be too hard to do if you use the microbe freebuild mode which generates a bunch of AI species to fill the world. The cheat to spawn an enemy cell may be useful to you as you can quickly use that to check what enemy species are present in the patch you are in. Also I think the auto-evo exploring tool might be useful as if I remember right it allows you to jump into the game you’ve simulated so you could run that a bunch and quickly inspect if the generated world has any species with pili in them.
