No. There’s a “larger” earlier in that sentence, so the phrase is “more than otherwise possible”, which indeed means “if it was not fat tissue, than it would be impossible to store this much glucose”.

I honestly think this would better suit for a multicellular specialization feature rather than something already included in the base microbe stage

What would be the unlock condition for fat btw? Overproducing too much glucose that it leaks out into the environment?
