I'm "new" here

Most certainly, we’ve had times much more active than this and the forum seemed fine back then

Right now the forum seems pretty active, when was it more active than this?

Before 2025, So in 2022-4 (from my experience).
Throughout 2025 the users from the 2021-2 wave started to become increasingly less active and by the beginning of this year I’ve pretty much become the last largely active user of that wave, which means that right now we have a kind of an activity drought in here.

If this is a drought who know what it will be like 1-2 years from now.

Also this is now the largest introduction thread!

Well hopefully it doesn’t get any dryer, especially after the devs have begun work on the macroscopic

What do the devs have planned for multicellular, cause right now (and probably also after 1.1.0) it seems almost the same as it was. Also if there is too much planned they might not complete it in a year.

the roadmap is here:

They have much stuff planned still

How are they planning on doing the transition between multicellular and macroscopic? In order to have skin (or something to hold your organs and stuff in), you need many cells. Even having 100 cells does not seem like enough, and last time I checked, you only need 20 cells to advance, which is certainly not enough. Perhaps they will change this in the future but currently it makes no sense.

I think it’s meant that there is a timeskip between the two stages of sorts where your multicellular bodyplan becomes the “torso” of your macroscopic creature

How are they planning on representing all the many things that will surely happen during this timeskip? It would be unrealistic to say that nothing happens in 30 million years, especially on the multicellular scale.

This is now also the first introduction thread to hit 50 posts!

I think it would be said that during this time the cells of the bodyplan multiplied in a way that it grew to macroscopic scales but still retained it’s original shape. Unfortunately a multicellular intermediate stage is not planned at the moment.

Perhaps after the inevitable boom in Thrive’s popularity, someone will mod it in. Or maybe some dev will come along and add it. The future is always uncertain…

I feel like if anywhen it’d happen after aware is mostly complete at the earliest

How long are macroscopic and aware supposed to take? I feel like it is more than one year…

I think they are both supposed to take like 3-4 years each, maybe a bit less for aware

So we can finally enjoy the full evolutionary scope of Thrive by 2040! Unless of course they plan on adding some evolution to the awakening stage (possibly reflecting how the Genus Homo entered the stone age well before modern humans evolved).

Awakening as a whole is supposed to be a transitionary stage between the evo stages and the strategy stages

Welcome to the forum, @Flagella!

I would have posted this yesterday, but apparently you can only make 35 posts on your first day.

So there will most likely be both evolution and strategy?

Thank you Poodelicus for your support!

Yeah, stages 1-4 are the evo stages and stages 6-8 are the strategy stages.
