Turn 3
Turn 3 Summary:
575 Million Years after the formation of Treerilia, radiation levels on the surface began to increase. The Magnetic poles were beginning to once again switch polarity, allowing the surface of the fledgling world to be bathed in UV radiation.
However, that was not the only thing that changed. The incessant rainfall had continued for millions of years, deepening the oceans. This exerted higher pressure on the organisms that inhabited the primordial oceans.
And a new substance, Oxygen, was beginning to change the atmosphere. Some new organisms began to use this byproduct of oxygenic photosynthesis to power Oxidative Phosphorylation. The increase in this relatively reactive gas started to slowly cause problems for those organisms who did not have tolerance for it.
As alarming as this would be for the first organisms to evolve in the Phyade I system, it is not the most dire situation. That would be streaks of light in the nascent Treerilian sky. As those streaks came closer, they exploded in a deafening airburst explosions. Some larger Asteroids made it all the way to surface, and produced craters in explosion even more terrifying than those in the sky. Yet these were just pieces of a larger world, looming in the distance beyond the zenith of the horizon.
A world the size of Dwarf Planet Pluto, but composed entirely of solid rock and some iron, had strayed too close to Treerilia-Xanrillon binary. It was now on a collision course with the parent body Treerilia. The delicate waltz of gravity had tugged this world away from its original orbit in the Outer parts of the Phade I System. Now laid bare of its icy volatiles, this Pluto-sized world was plunging closer and closer to the inevitability of its demise. The ephemeral existence of this zhatkit world became apocalypse – strewn into a ring of debris due to reaching its Roche limit.
This former world, now a colony of an indeterminate order of meteors of various sizes, began to rain down onto the surface of Treerilia. This deadly gossamer ring of rock struck the world in a deluge of fire, getting rid of the feeble oxygen collected. Many members of this brief belated terror were thrown in various directions by Xanrillon, itself scarred and peppered by the ordeal.
Life, if any of it still existed, would go on to live in a new world. One where the deepest, darkest crevices, and the haunting natural towers beneath the seas, bubbled up glowing greenish rocks. Pulsating radiation never before witnessed on this world, alluring to the unsuspecting organisms, like sirens beckoning the lost…
Will life thrive, again?
