Are there ways to increase the mutation rate from where it is now to something higher?
geomedusa parefolia
egg-leafed polyp
geomedusa parefoliaβs leaves(would-be medusas) now produce an egg cell via mitosis, then fill it with ammonia so itβll have the resources to build some cells without needing to consume first.
these egg cells, at the time of being released from the leaf, are already completely covered in (very primitive) chlorosomes, are about 3-4 times the size of a normal geomedusa parefolia cell, and look like this
[1]
however, a while after they exit the leaf, they pull all the gene carrying organelles(ex: hydrogenoplast, nucleus, and small storage vesicles) to the center and form a new membrane around the center, before going through the normal cell cycle, until they run out of ammonia, carbon, or phosphate, and then they enter maintenance only mode(pic of a βcellβ inside a mature egg ready to attach to a surface below)

they are nearly identical to the cells of the medusae, aside from lacking a cell membrane and instead only having a plasma membrane. when the egg is ready to split, the plasma membrane of the egg becomes the outer membrane of the cells, and the egg cellβs chlorosomes are digested to provide extra energy for growth, while the eggβs cell membrane is left intact until everything within is digested, and then it is eaten
oh btw, how efficient are my chlorosomes currently? iβm guessing somewhere between 30 and 70% since theyβre not exactly very optimized yet?
the orange vesicles are full of ammonia, the pink bits are the hydrogenoplasts, and the green things in the membrane are the chlorosomes, which are sandwiched between the cell membrane and the plasma membrane β©οΈ
Could we mutate one caste at normal speed if we didnβt change the other ones?
Yeah, you can do that.
And willow, Iβm gonna average that to 50%.
Will we be able to command our species to do some actions when we evolve brains for instance?
Yes, complex behaviors, eyes, all the good stuff.
I am assuming, just like with Choanozoa, species cannot mutated more than 2x size and more than one type of new tissue every round?
Will we for instance be able to command them to reproduce more if our species happen to be in a population crisis?
Yes, you definitely can. Also AA, the size limit is 2x increase, just like in Choanozoa.
What are the requirements for a tier 1 brain?
Basic aerobic respiration, blood, and digestive system.
And so far none of us have any of that, right?
Yes, none have that. Stuff like that is unlocked at the macroscopic stages.
And to reach that we need 100 cells. How many cells do my polyps have now?
Around 13 I think. Though, I am not sure.
I count my polyp as the base + central medusa + petal medusas.
So we are allowed to increase the size of other stage besides the Medusa stage?
Pretty sure these stages are just life stages, and just like medusa we can evolve them too. Like how I managed to fuse medusa and polyp together.
Yes, that is allowed. I have noticed none of you care about the planulas that much, except willowβ¦
Maybe soon enough planulas wonβt be that much needed for our species (besides willowβs) anymoreβ¦
