Common Name: Conga-line Banana Comber
In the Planula stage, the membrane of has become more rigid to further increase energy efficiency, as well as make it more resistant to potential attacks. The behavior of the Planula stage has also changed, becoming more cautious around potential predators and less aggressive around other other Planula.
The membrane of the Polyp stage has become doubled, which gives the cells even more efficiency and resistance to attack. Additionally, the Polyp stage has developed a new behavior, where it delays budding if the Polyp senses danger.
During the Medusa Stage, an individual Banana Comber lives for alone for about two days before finding another Banana Comber. This pair of Banana Combers stay in proximity to each other for another two days before finding another pair of Banana Combers. This group of four Banana Combers line up side-by-side, almost like they are forming a Conga line. After another two day, the four Banana Combers stick together side-by-side in a line for the remainder of the Medusa Stage.
Each Banana Comber has increased in size by 10%. The storage tissue and digestion tissues have increased as a result of the increased Medusa Stage size. There are now two extra cilia combs located 90 degrees from the other two previous cilia combs for better movement. Each of the two primitive Colloblast tentacles on each Banana Comber has increased in length by one cell. Also, there are five muscle cells on each primitive Colloblast tentacle connected to the cap cells in series. When the cap cells on each primitive Colloblast tentacle burst to catch pray, it sends out a calcium cascade across the connected muscle cells, causing the muscle cells and the primitive Colloblast tentacle to contract. Finally, some cells now have spikes for defense.
