I can imagine things like the sea sheep might be troublesome to justify having all itβs features implemented without it just being an effort-stealing niche feature.
Hopefully, other forms of internal parasite, such as intestinal, respiratory, cardiovascular, and/or neurological, will end up in the game in some form. Then of course, there are arboreal parasites, as well as external parasites for skin, hair/fur, feathers, and scales. Then there are the ocular parasites (which I find particularly disturbing). I just question reproductive parasites specifically for content reasons. Of all the types, that one seems the least likely/most problematic to include.

I wonder how detailed would parasite simulation in-game get. Maybe you could send immune cells to specific places in your body with suspected parasite activity?
I would like to mention that at the awakening stage (When your species has already achieved intelligence) there will still be a function for switching to the organism editor and, accordingly, reproduction.

I am fairly sure the degree of how much can you change by awakening is supposed to be smaller than back when one was in aware. Which would probably remove the ability of changing reproduction type for instance.

I feel like aesthetic changes based on sexual selection are likely to happen on very small evolutionary time scales, and so would be pretty cheap in MP.

But still doing changes like going from budding-type reproduction to sexual reproduction shouldnβt be possibly by the time one developed a sapient species.
