Massive Damage when ejecting cell with pili

with weak cell you instantly dying to ejected cell with pili

also carrying big iron chunk with ferroplasts is op

I too have experienced some cells instantly disintegrating when I try to eject cells

also regarding that second statement, sush, it’s my whole strategy; if lichen can cling to rocks to get stuff from then, why shouldn’t the player be allowed to?

I built a very large cell and can’t pass patch with 0 iron on it.
escape plan was to use mitochondrions but there was too little oxygen to be effective. new plan is to store iron and quickly migrate into patch above.

yeah, I generally stick to a single patch then develop into an organism with a pure iron-based metabolism; it’d be cool if they added some sort of “instinct” to gather physical objects once there’s more than iron chunks

also, now that I think about it, I don’t think I’ve seen you before; welcome to the forums!

bit of interesting earth lore kinda related to this, LUCA was likely an iron eating autotroph, so the player eating rocks to spread to other patches with the up to 3 generations of iron energy provided by the rocks is quite analogous to how life likely spread from where the loneliest cell in earth’s history lived, but rather than in the rocks, around the rocks and carrying them!

There’s an open issue about adding some damage invulnerability when ejecting:

There’s been some discussion on the implementation of that feature, but so far there hasn’t been a pull request implementing the feature.
