Mechanis C

The Mechanis system was quite the oddity. It had a large fusion reactor encased by metal, not the usual giant plasma ball. All 3 planets were also mechanical. However, only the 2nd one from the star, Mechanis C, had, albeit robotic, life.

How to play

You start out as this metal cube or whatever else players have made if you joined late.

How will you evolve? Well, with the Grid Editorβ„’!

The little ball is at position 0, 0. Using this grid is optional (to conserve forum space). You can just make a list of coordinates everything is at. Also, you CAN’t replace the initial cube. This is so that I know the positions of everything.
Here are some organelles to use as templates:
Structure: What the original cube is. 16 EP. 1 Li β†’ 5 EU.
Generator: Converts lithium (the glucose equivalent) into energy. 50 EP. 3 Li β†’ 15 EU.
Solar cell: Uses The Sunβ„’ to charge up batteries, producing Lithium… somehow. 50 EP. +3 Li, -3 EU. Half as effective in mesopelagic zones, does not work in lower zones or underwater caves.
Motor: Basically a flagella. Makes you move faster, but consumes energy. 50 EP. -5 EU.
Primordial CPU: Acts as a nucleus for robots. 75 EP. -50 EU.
Locking Mechanism: Locked behind CPU. Allows robots of the same species to attach to eachother. 50 EP. -1 EU.
Radio transmitter: Locked behind CPU. Allows robots to communicate with others of the same species. 50 EP. -1 EU

You can make your own organelles from these. Also, after Microbe, you will no longer be limited by EP, but by the Insanity-o-Meter.

When you’re at red, that’s not allowed. Anything else is allowed, but I’d suggest aiming for yellow. Also, orange is unlocked at sexual reproduction, which is unlockable at Macroscopic. However, when you first unlock sex, you are twice as likely to get genetic diseases (or coding bugs?), so get an immune system (antivirus) ASAP to mitigate that.

Also, it’s already estabalished that a primordial CPU is needed for going multicellular, but you need some wiring to go macroscopic, a basic CPU for going into the aquatic stage, no CPU upgrades for land, a land habitat and general CPU for going tribal, and an advanced CPU to go technological and now you have finished and I’m ending the FG and making another FG about you!

Since fralegend posted that robot crab video, I had the urge to make this.

Is this a throwback to your old evo FGs?
Also will our civs make bio-computers for a true inverse of real life?

Yeah. Eldritch ore, :belgium: yeah! Also it’s a throwback.

So, I am guessing all of your older evo games are never going to be continued?

Yeah, they are dead. RIP.

How small are these robotic organelles? Are the initial robot-organisms like nanobots?

I suppose so.
Is the world β€œalive” too btw?

No, not really. Just a big ball of metal. And the initial organisms are more like microbots, due to the scale of the components being on micrometers, not nanometers.

Are our critters mobile now or no?

Yeah, they sure move. Because the cytoblob moves.

Could we use the lithium creation process to make our planet larger?

Yeah, although we should start making species now… I added a B for β€œbase” to the metal start block.

How many players do you need to start this FG?

I’ll join this game.

How much EP do we get to begin with?

β€œS” stands for β€œsolar cell”, β€œG” stands for β€œgenerator”

This β€œprimum solarum”

Remember, you can just state coordinates instead of uploading images.

I’ll make a new species simpler than Primum solarum. I call it Primum apolosmatika.
Coordinates of species:
Structure (0,0)
Generator (0,1)

Does EP accumulate over rounds if left untouched?

No, you just have 100 EP per round. And it’s 3 players to begin like always.
