Microscopic niches at macroscopic stages

The first thing the player may encounter is plankton - plankton are microbes that the player and other macroscopic species can feed on. There may be a niche of parasitic microbes (but that’s a separate topic). Microbes will also be the first to come to the surface, forming the first soils, and also occupying niches of dedritic feeders, photosynthetic bacteria, and protists hunting other microbes.

Microbes in the macroscopic stages are supposed to be represented by clouds, like the resource clouds in the microbe stage.
