This has been fixed in the upcoming 0.8.1 release, so by then you won’t have to worry about that.
I guess no one reported it yet on the forums, but many people reported it on Discord. So yeah, I already knew of the problem and I was able to find the bug and fix it. Like aah said the fix will be in 0.8.1
I did report it, but in the 0.8.0 feedback thread and not a separate bug report thread.
thanks. good to know
Every piece of bugreport might help polish up the game, and every polish is an improvement!
Oh right, I totally forgot. I didn’t see that when searching for “myofibril” with the forum’s search feature.
Somehow, just recently, I keep getting the suggestion for Myofibrils. I never had this occur before in any previous playthrough. I guess its just a matter of time before everyone playing sees this bug in the Microbe stage (if one is below version 0.8.1.0).
They have to be at 0.8.0 because that’s THE version with the unpatched suggestor.
0.8.0 for windows (latest) it says.
how do I update it?
0.8.0 is the latest version. 0.8.1 will be released next month. Though we do make early builds available to our Patreon backers to give something back to them for the financial support they provide for the project.
Or you can unpack the recentmost version with enough coding skills…
another thing I found in that game is the inability to cancel endosymbiosis in multicellular. I initiated it in microbial stage, then became multicellular. There isn’t an endosymbiosis option in multicellular, so I permanently lost the ability to eat an entire species without shooting them or stabbing them.
Oh, really? Well, as it’s multicellular, don’t expect it to get fixed…
If the plan is for microbe to be finished in 6 months, than 4 or 5 updates from now would see the shift to be multicellular focused. Which is arguably “soon”, if not “right away”.
“Don’t expect” full endosymbiosis (without really dedicated modder). Expect it to be several months before multicellular endosymbiosis lite is fixed.
I assumed so. Seemed like a fairly small thing to not fix eventually, so I figured they probably meant that because it is multicellular, it is of low priority
I guess so.
What do you mean by this?
Finally someone who has seen what happens! There’s been an open issue for almost a year about seeing what happens in this situation:
I’ve opened a follow up issue to stop endosymbiosis when going multicellular to prevent this slight issue:
Will endosymbiosis end up being added to multicellular when the time comes?
I wouldn’t personally add it as it would be a ton of development time to add a feature that has always been missing from colony gameplay (being able to add new organelles while in a colony).
