I have just finished replaying Spore for the first time in years and because that game is the biggest disappointment since my birth I ended up discovering this game. I know Thrive is still very early in development but I’m curious to know what stage the people here are looking forward to the most. Personally I always had a soft spot for the creature and tribal stages, and the aware/awakening stages sounds like everything i have ever wanted, but I know a lot of people prefer the space stage. I think even if the game will never reach that point of completion I’ll enjoy lurking on this forum, it seems nice

IMO, I don’t think that the space stage is the most anticipated stage, considering the ungodly amount of patience you would need to be actually hyped over it.
Personally I’m most excited for the macroscopic stage, as that would mark a turning point in the game’s long history where we actually explore the randomly generated 3d planet and it’s beautiful environments.

Yeah, macroscopic and aware are the most important milestones for us to reach and complete at the current point. With them should come a popularity explosion…

I agree with both @aah31415 and @Itookausername. Macroscopic and Aware are like Pre-Ediacaran/Ediacaran times in terms of Earths History. It is estimate that 1% of all species that have existed on Earth are fossilized. Imagine all the organisms we will see in the game when the these stages are properly developed!

I also think the aware stage has a good shot at getting the game popular, especially beacuse there really isn’t a big game that can scratch that specific itch yet., while If you want to to colonize the galaxy you can probably just play stellaris or something

Yeah im also very intrested in the aware/macroscopic stage i feel like making tons of different creatures will be fun, although industrial/society also seem interesting cuz it seems like you’ll be able to make lots of different technologies unlike in spore.

Ideally the technology your species would develop would be infuenced by its biology. For example a creature with enormous claws wouldn’t need a plough to discover agricolture but it would struggle doing precision work, things like that

I’d say only macroscopic out of the two is precambrian, as aware is pretty much cambrian explosion-level and onward.

yeah that’d be pretty cool, that technology is based on your creature’s biology and not human biology (unlike in spore)
