After staying in multicellular stage for couple of generations I tried to remove excessive components from cell and to reorganize it (by rebuilding / moving all components to “fresh” cell on right side in cell editor) producing following result:
Bug persists into multicellular-editor (even when additional cells are placed).
Ps1. Couple generations before this bug I got “max array size reached” error mid generation but game kept running normally.
Ps2. After switching form 1.6.0 to 1.1.0 i keep getting following unhandled error on start (not effecting the game), even though I deleted 1.6.0 saves:
Unhandled error message
Condition “!input_map.has(p_action)” is true.
The InputMap action “g_reproduce” doesn’t exist.
This part is just how the game works for technical reasons. Cells only have their centre moved to match the new design once you fully exit the editor. This should be resolved the next time you enter the editor?
As the previous is not actually a bug, this is probably unrelated.
This looks like the problem is that 1.6 has a new hotkey, which has its input key saved in your file. The previous version does not have that hotkey, hence it fails. Completely deleting your Thrive files before re-installing should fix this I believe, but there’s probably a more specific thing that can be reset.
This problem should automatically resolve itself upon exiting the editor.
And due to very difficulty problems we cannot apply the cell centering when pressing “next” in the cell editor tab, only upon fully exiting the editor can we center the cell layouts in multicellular. That’s actually also exactly where in microbe stage the centering happens (upon exiting the microbe editor).
It’s a Godot Engine error that indicates the game will explode soon. And needs a restart.
This has happened to basically every Thrive version where we added new hotkeys. I’ve thought about versioning the settings so that this wouldn’t happen, but I’ve never had the time to fix this.
For now if you want to go to previous Thrive versions you either have to just dismiss the error or delete your Thrive settings file before downgrading the game version.

I think an official support fix/update for downgrading versions would be rather far out there in terms of current priorities no?
