For the microbe stages, it will be suitable for just a web, but for the multicellular to society stages, the patch web needs to become a patch map, and then it will need to become a patch universe.

yup most definitely. the web might work for multicellular stage though.

From a programmer’s perspective this is difficult to read, because currently what the map with patches in the game, it is literally called PatchMap in the code and referred to as such whenever I talk about it. In the later stages the patch map will be phased out in favour of a map of geographic areas or something.
